What We Do
Bower Family Farms is the culmination of a lifelong dream of Amanda and Peter Bower to introduce families to the wholesome, yet modern way of life they enjoyed growing up in rural San Diego county. From raising animals to growing food naturally, at BFF you can participate in activities that enhance your perspective on health and engage your kids in a wonderful learning environment. Offering classes, events, and a refreshing place to escape the daily hustle and bustle, we are constantly adding new activities for your family to enjoy.
Who We Are
Peter is a 32 year old attorney turned businessman, who loves to work with his hands designing memorable activities and creating improvements that enrich the lives of all guests in his spare time. There is no sport or outdoor activity that Peter hasn't tried or wants to try including sailing, flying, backpacking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Peter likes safe things such as axes and rope, hand sharpening knives, medieval catapults, jet propulsion, underground bunkers, and archery. He has a 50' high 3"rope that he climbed once by hand. And he will talk to anyone about anything until you are both exhausted, at which point he really gets going.
Amanda enjoys being a homemaker and mother as well as an accomplished businesswoman running two businesses as a licensed real estate broker. Renowned for her home cooking, Amanda is the easiest person to talk to and makes you feel right at home. She cares about her family and friends, and treats everyone with the same neighborly attentiveness. Amanda has tremendous courage and vision, like her father, who taught her to take calculated risks that have tremendous payoff and keep pushing until her dreams come true.
Rachel Sara, Peter and Amanda's oldest daughter, is named after Sara, Amanda's close cousin. Rachel is a confident, articulate, and capable 2 year old (going on 22) who might have a long conversation with you about the dog, the alpacas, or what she ate today. She's taken the best from both her parents and loves her baby brother James, the newest addition.
